History of Jeff's Soy Wax Candles
Setting the Mood.....
Five years ago I started making candles as a hobby with my two daughters which was a great outlet for us to spend time together as I have been a single father. I used a variety of different waxes. I made pillar candles as well as container candles. After experimenting with these waxes, I found that I had a hard time achieving consistency, getting the candles to melt and burn evenly across each container and pillar. The old waxes I used resulted in craters being formed in the containers. I also had trouble getting the candles to throw a fragrant scent while burning.
Two years ago, I researched soy wax and started to use it. I found that soy wax burns at a lower temperature and lasts up to 50% longer than other types of wax. I also found that soy wax burns consistently across each container when wicked properly. Soy holds the scent tighter in so the combination of a wax that burn at a lower temperature and wicked properly resulted in a candle that was able to throw a very strong fragrance . Soy is virtually soot free. It burns clean, even, and releases the most fragrant scents.
